Hi everyone! We want to give you a warm welcome to the 3rd edition of this summer school “Global Energy, Environment and Risk” at the University of Geneva! This course is an intense 2-week program on environmental governance, sustainability, and energy dynamics across the globe with a focus on local dynamics and context in the Lake Geneva region and Switzerland. The sessions will provide you with an intense immersion into the latest political and scientific issues on the global environmental and energy agendas, including Post-COP21, the lead-up to COP22, Ecological and Smart Cities, Financing Energy, and Energy Efficiency.
To stimulate your brain cells and get into the groove for Monday’s first session, check out a recent article in the Wall Street Journal on why cities are so well suited for renewable energy growth. We kick off Monday with an Introduction Session by the University of Geneva Summer School Team and then dive into our site visit at the World Meteorological Organization to hear from experts on what is today’s state of play regarding climate change.
See you Monday!
